Morley Taps HSBC for Fund Management Head, Reveals Global Aspirations

Aviva, the UK's biggest insurer, has hired Alain Dromer, previously global head of group investment business at HSBC to head its Morley fund management arm and to build a global asset management operation. Mr Dromer, who will join on 3 September, will be appointed to Aviva's group executive committee and will report to chief executive Andrew Moss. The UK-listed insurer said that Mr Dromer would take up the post of chief executive of Aviva Global Investors and Morley from 3 September. Prior to HSBC, Mr Dromer was a member of the executive committee of Credit Commercial de France, where he was responsible for asset management and insurance. He joined HSBC in 2001. Mr Dromer said: "I'm delighted to be joining Aviva at this time of change and new ideas. This is a compelling and unique opportunity to bring Aviva's vision for global asset management to life. Using Morley as the foundation, I look forward to working with Aviva's other asset management teams to create a truly global investment operation."
