Morgan Stanley Loses Head Of PWM For EMEA Region

Alexander Classen, head of private wealth management, EMEA at Morgan Stanley has resigned, WealthBriefing has learned. It is understood that no decision has yet been made on a possible successor.

Morgan Stanley declined to comment on the matter when contacted by this publication.

Last October, Classen was quoted as saying that Morgan Stanley aims for double-digit growth at its non-US wealth management operations over a five-year period, and would consider acquisitions to achieve its target.

Classen previously worked for Goldman Sachs. Morgan Stanley PWM appointed him in March 2006. He was formerly general manager of Goldman Sachs’ Swiss Banking operations in Zurich and Geneva, as head of sales for its high net worth business in Europe and the Middle East.
