Standard Bank is launching the latest in its series of Structured Growth Solutions offering investors a choice of two products. The first invests in the Eurozone with enhanced growth potential while the second allows investors to track three globally diversified portfolios to receive enhanced returns based on the potential performance of the best of the three portfolios. Both products offer unlimited growth potential. The European Growth Accelerator is linked to the performance of the DJ EURO STOXX 50 Index and offers capital protection as long as the index doesn’t fall by 30 per cent or more during the term. Investors will receive an enhanced return of 160 per cent in sterling terms (140 per cent for US dollar investments) of the potential growth of the DJ EURO STOXX 50 Index. The product is AA- rated by S&P and is available as a tradeable security only. The Global Portfolio Picker tracks the returns of three portfolios over its 4½ year investment period. Each portfolio offers diversification through investment in four asset classes – equities, commodities, property and fixed income. Investors’ returns will be based on the best performing of the three portfolios, with enhanced participation of 130 per cent. Capital is protected in full provided the investment is held to maturity. Global Portfolio Picker is available as either a deposit or a tradeable security. Both products launched on 23 April and are available in either sterling or US dollars. They require a minimum investment of £50,000 or $100,000. The deposit variant, which is only available for the Global Portfolio Picker, requires a minimum investment of £10,000 or $20,000. The security variant is available for purchase through a number of offshore life companies’ personal portfolio bonds with potential tax advantages for investors.
