The two Italian private bankers who WealthBriefing reported leaving Morgan Stanley yesterday were confirmed as Carlo Michienzi and Andrea Brignone. A Morgan Stanley spokesman was able to confirm their departure. Both bankers are believed to be starting up on their own, covering the Italian market from London and Milan. “They were heavy hitters and had managed to carve out a successful business in Italy, despite the difficulties of building wealth management business there,” said a source close to Morgan Stanley.
