Mixed Investment 20-60 per cent shares topped the 2013
leaderboard as the best-selling sector with the highest
percentage of net sales throughout the year, according to new
figures from Cofunds,
the UK investment platform that was acquired by Legal & General
last year.
Global Equity Income was the second highest selling-sector,
followed by North America which had steady inflows throughout
2013. Property and Mixed Investment 0-35 per cent shares took the
final two spots of the top five, respectively.
“While Mixed Investment 20-60 per cent Shares was undoubtedly the
most favourable sector throughout 2013, it’s interesting to note
in the third and fourth quarters property gained pace after being
named the second highest selling sector in both quarters. Indeed,
following this shift of money in the second half of 2013, we also
saw UK Smaller Companies along with Japan become the two most
successful performing sectors. In terms of outlook, the strong
performance of the UK economy could see resurgence in flows into
UK sectors overall," said head of commercial Graham Venn.
