Mirae Demystifies Emerging Markets With New iPhone App

South Korea’s Mirae Asset has launched a new iPhone app to provide news and information on the emerging markets, continuing a rising trend of investment houses launching smartphone services.

Named Emerging Markets Experts, the new service will feature content including a daily “infographic” showing emerging markets’ growth prospects, weekly commentary on the BRIC economies, interviews and presentations from emerging markets specialists, and tools such as a currency converter and phrase book.

For those who do not have an iPhone, this content will be also be available via Twitter under the name “@EMexperts”, the firm said in a statement.

Several firms have launched smartphone apps in recent months off the back of rising demand from clients for access to information such as portfolio valuations “on the move.” The most recent launches were made by Generali Worldwide and Deutsche Bank, the former unveiling a valuations app for its savings and investment members, and the latter an app for its Global Prime Finance business.
