Merrill Lynch WM Bolsters California, Alabama Offices

Jose Fernandez and Juan Aleman have joined Merrill Lynch Wealth Management from Citigroup Global Markets, where they previously managed $261 million in assets with a production of $2 million, Family Wealth Report can confirm.

At Citigroup, Fernandez and Aleman were based in Los Angeles, CA. In their new roles at Merrill, the pair join the San Diego, CA office. 

Fernandez initially joined Citigroup in 2005, while Aleman joined the firm’s Long Island City, NY office in 2006, subsequently moving to Los Angeles in 2007.

In other news, Merrill said it also recruited Ryan Baker and Stuart Hamm from Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in January, joining the firm's Florence, AL branch. 

Baker and Hamm previously had a production total of $1.3 million and managed about $1.3 million in assets.
