Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Appoints New Office Manager For Geneva

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has made two appointments to its Swiss bank, naming Jean-Marc Guillot as Geneva office manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa clients, and Valérie Bastardoz as head of marketing and communications for Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse).
Guillot joins from Banque Bénédict Hentsch & Cie, where he had been head of markets, responsible for providing advisory and portfolio management support to client relationship managers. Before this he was head of foreign exchange overlays at Union Bancaire Privée, head of forex derivatives and forwards at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie, and head of FX trading and structured products at Credit Commercial de France.
In his new role Guillot will be responsible for managing and supporting client relationship managers in Geneva, and will report to Peter Schmid, general manager and chief executive of Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse).
Bastardoz joins Merrill from Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, where she was communications director responsible for marketing, sponsorships and events. In her prior career she also served as head of media for the Swatch Group, overseeing communications and media for brands including Omega, Breguet, Swatch and Calvin Klein.
In her new role Bastardoz reports jointly to Schmid and Sara-Louise Boyes, head of media relations for Merrill Lynch Wealth Management across EMEA.
Other recent appointments at Merrill’s Swiss bank include those of Concetta Caruso as chief operating officer, Sophie Chapuisat as head of intermediary business and Christopher Robinson as head of legal.
