Merrill Lynch Adds Norwegian Specialist In London

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, part of Bank of America, has appointed Alf Monsen as a financial advisor, focusing on Norwegian ultra high net worth individuals and family offices in the UK.

Monsen joins the firm from ABN Amro, where he was a senior director responsible for structured shipping finance in the Nordic and North America regions. He also previously worked at UBS Warburg in a role covering Scandinavian UHNW individuals.

In his new London-based position at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, looking after Norwegian clients, Monsen will report to Adam Horowitz, head of UK, Ireland and Israel, and will work closely with Steen Foldberg, the firm’s market leader for the Nordic region, Belgium and Luxembourg.

February has seen a number of hires at the US firm; yesterday it confirmed that Michael Benz, a former senior manager at UBS, has taken up his post as its new head for the Asia Pacific region. Meanwhile, earlier this month the firm added financial advisor Milan Duschka to its Amsterdam team. Duschka, who joined from ABN Amro Mees Pierson in Rotterdam, is focusing on advising Dutch entrepreneurial clients.
