Merrill GPC Teams Up With US Community Bank

Merrill Lynch Global Private Client is partnering with US community bank Carver Bancorp in New York to offer investment products and financial advice directly to residents in Harlem and Brooklyn through financial booths in bank branches that will be staffed by Merrill Lynch financial advisors. "This alliance provides Carver clients with the global perspective, power and capabilities of Merrill Lynch in their own community branches," said Robert McCann, vice chairman and president of Merrill Lynch Global Private Client. Merrill Lynch will develop and deliver customised phone-based and online supported financial programs to Carver’s primarily African- and Caribbean-American clients. "This unprecedented alliance continues Carver's history of identifying the unique financial needs of our communities and helping provide our customers with access to the financial products and services they need to create security and build wealth for themselves and their families," said Deborah Wright, chairman and chief executive officer of Carver.
