Merrill Appoints Advisor For UK, Irish Clients

Merrill Lynch Wealth Management has appointed Paul O’Sullivan as a financial advisor focusing on UK and Irish high net worth clients.

O’Sullivan joins from Credit Suisse, where he was a senior private banker, focusing on UK and Irish ultra high net worth individuals. Before this he worked for UBS as a financial advisor for UK entrepreneurs.

In his new role O’Sullivan reports to Adam Horowitz, head of UK, Ireland and Israel at Merrill.

In other recent hires, last month Merrill bolstered its Middle Eastern operations with the addition of financial advisors Haytham Abou El Nasr, Mahmoud Bakr and Rani Mortada - a trio who now focus on offshore business in the GCC countries, Egypt and the Levant region.

El Nasr, who is now based in Dubai, joined from Prime Asset Finance in London, where he was chief operations officer, overseeing investment placement, fund raising, corporate finance and business development in the MENA region.

Bakr and Mortada’s new roles are London-based. Bakr joined from MHBI Consultants, of which he was the founder and chief executive, while Mortada was latterly with Standard Chartered Private Bank, focusing on the Levant region.
