Mercer Expands Investment Consultancy Business

Mercer has appointed Mandy Turner as a senior consultant in Bristol, in a move to expand its investment consulting business.

Turner previously spent 15 years with Aon Hewitt where she worked as a scheme actuary and pensions consultant on major schemes with assets and liabilities of between £50 million (about $80 million) and £1 billion. She was also part of the risk group, working with clients to draw together the risk, investment and funding aspects of scheme financing to form a coherent longer-term strategy.

“We have been steadily expanding our investment consulting business in the south west since it was established three years ago, and it now stands at 20 people – making our local consulting team the largest in the region. We expect to continue to grow in terms of our staff numbers and client base during 2011,” said George Fowler, partner and unit head in Bristol.
