Mercer Adds New Principal To Alternatives Boutique

Mercer, the international consulting and investment firm, has appointed Toby Buscombe as a principal to provide infrastructure and private equity investment advisory services within its alternatives boutique.

In his new role, Buscombe will also represent Mercer in relation to potential reforms across the UK and European infrastructure financing market.

Buscombe has over a decade of experience in infrastructure investment and asset management on behalf of pension fund clients. Most recently, he was a partner and head of the European infrastructure group at Australia-headquartered Access Capital Advisors, a role in which he managed the firm’s London office.

In other recent developments, Mercer made two other new appointments last month, including Jeff Schutes as global head of wealth management and manager research, and John Benfield as a partner within its investment business.

Additionally, the firm selected Orion Advisor Services as its outsourced portfolio accounting partner in January.
