"As Mellon looks to expand its high-end mortgage business throughout the U.S., Erin's breadth of knowledge and experience makes her the ideal person to lead our national mortgage sales group," says Hughes.
Gorman returns to Mellon after running her own jumbo-mortgage brokerage and after a stint with high-end mortgage brokerage Guardhill Financial. She originally came to Mellon in 1993 when the Pittsburgh-based bank bought the Boston Company, for whom she was a mortgage broker for high-net-worth clients.
"As a former employee, Erin is sure to bring her talent and enthusiasm to this initiative, and we're excited to have her back," says Hughes.
Early in December 2006 Mellon agreed to merge with the Bank of New York in exchange for about $16.5 billion in Bank of New York stock.
Pittsburgh-based Mellon has around $5.5 trillion in assets under management, administration and custody. Its PWM group is based in Boston. -FWR
