Market Street wins NorthRoad's outsourcing mandate

"Global" manager points to Market Street's original-currency capabilities. International equity-portfolio manager NorthRoad Capital Management has selected middle- and back-office investment service provider Market Street Advisors to support its multi-currency securities program. Northroad says it was looking for web-based processing that supports multiple currencies while avoiding the high costs of "un-integrated" software installations.
Edison, N.J.-based Market Street advertises in this publication.
Ordinaries
"Market Street's cost-effective platform allows us to support differing investment options," says NorthRoad's COO Kevin Aarons. "This was crucial to our business because we distribute through more than one channel."
In addition to multi-channel support, New York-based NorthRoad say it also needed an asset-management administrator with the ability to process "ordinaries," or multi-currency securities - a rare capability in the investment processing space, according to Market Street's CEO Bevin Crodian.
NorthRoad manages about $1.2 billion in international, "global" and European equities across 2,238 accounts, according to its latest ADV filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission . About half of its clients are high-net-worth individuals.
Seven-year-old Market Street Advisors says it's the only end-to-end ASP in the industry that can simultaneously support the complexity required by the institutional market, the customization required by the private wealth market, and the scalability required by the wrap market."
Market Street's main competitors are CheckFree's Investment Services unit and Vestmark . -FWR
