Maples And Calder Appoints Five New Cayman-Based Partners

Maples and Calder, the offshore law firm, has appointed eight new partners, five of which are based in the Cayman Islands.          

The new Cayman-based partners are Matthew Crawford, John Dykstra, Jarrod Farley, Michael Richardson and Joannah Bodden Small.

Crawford, who joined the firm in 2006, specializes in the financial services sector. He advises financial institutions, investment vehicles and their shareholders, directors, administrators, managers, liquidators and associated professionals on disputes and other crisis events.

Dykstra has been at the firm since 2001. His practice is focussed on structured finance, investment funds and corporate and commercial transactions.

Farley joined the firm in 2004 and advises open and closed ended investment funds on their establishment and ongoing legal and regulatory compliance in the Cayman Islands.

Richardson advises clients on all aspects of the establishment, maintenance and restructuring of open and closed ended investment funds. He also joined the firm in 2004.

Bodden Small, who joined the firm in 1998, specializes in asset and acquisition finance, including international aircraft finance and local aircraft and vessel registration in the Cayman Islands.

Internationally, Phillip Ireland has been appointed as a partner based in Dubai, Colm Rafferty as a partner based in Dublin, and John Trehey as a Hong Kong-based partner.
