Manulife Names Two Hong Kong Appointments

Manulife Financial, the Canadian financial services firm, has promoted two senior executives in its Hong Kong division.

Cliff Li has been appointed as assistant vice-president, legal counsel, and Phebe Chan becomes assistant vice-president, communications and marketing, investment funds.

Li is now part of the company’s legal and compliance team in charge of the legal and compliance issues for Hong Kong Operations. He joined the Manulife regional counsel's office in 1995.

Chan’s main responsibility is formulating strategies for investment funds marketing and investment communication for the company’s wealth management products, investment-linked products and MPF funds. Before coming to Manulife, she had worked in banks and fund managers.

Funds under management at Manulife Financial and its subsidiaries were C$512 billion (HK$3,976 billion) as at March 31, 2012.
