Malaysian Trust Company Expands into Wealth Management

Malaysian investments provider AmTrustee is looking to private and corporate trusts to boost its income over the next five years. AmTrustee, a unit of the AmInvestment Bank group, is expanding its product range to include a variety of trusts, products in strong demand from both conventional and Islamic markets in response to the rapid development in the financial planning and wealth management environment. AmTrustee chief executive Raja Amir says the company is Malaysia's first bank-backed trust corporation providing a range of trust products, such as family, investment, insurance and other trusts. AmTrusts services for the Islamic retail market are to be branded AmWarisan.
