Madoff Liquidator Seeks Default Judgments Against Offshore Hedge Funds - Report

The trustee liquidating Bernard Madoff’s business has asked a US court to file default notices against the Cayman Islands-based Primeo and Bermuda-based Alpha Prime funds, according to Bloomberg.

The trustee says the firms have ignored his suits seeking a total of $230.7 million in damages.

Chris Sharpe of the financial advisory firm Zolfo Cooper which is liquidating Primeo in a Cayman Islands court has reportedly declined to comment. The fund went into voluntary liquidation in January.
