M&I Wealth Management, part of BMO Financial Group since the 2011 acquisition, has appointed Mark Fenlon as regional president – Midwest central states, private client group.
Fenlon, who has been with the firm since 2004, will lead wealth operations in the Kansas City, St Louis and Indiana markets. He was previously responsible for the wealth management team in Arizona, where the firm said he managed to grow the personal trust business by 15 per cent in two years.
Fenlon said he sees "great opportunity in Kansas City," and that the market is "ready to grow."
BMO recently reported net income of $135 million for the quarter ended 31 January 2012 from its personal and commercial banking operations in the US, which includes BMO Harris Bank and Marshall & Ilsley, an increase of $81 million year-over-year.
The acquired Marshall & Ilsley Corporation business contributed $89 million to adjusted net income at the unit, which accounts for the amortization of acquisition-related intangible assets and stood at $152 million, up $93 million from a year ago.
M&I’s offering for high net worth individuals and families includes financial planning, investment management and advisory services, trust and estate services and private banking.
