Luxury Yacht Maker Launches New Division For The Ultra Rich

Asian luxury yacht company, Yacht Solutions, has launched a higher-end superyacht division that hopes to stir the interest of the region and the world's growing wealthy numbers.

Ruea Yachts, the new superyacht business, will showcase exclusive designs and vessels that combine European marine technology and the Thai method of boat craftsmanship, the company said in a statement. The company will specialise in Lloyds classification and MCA LY2 code certified custom luxury yachts of up to 85 metres in size.

The division will be run by brothers Gareth and Simon Smith, who are known for their expertise in the marine and superyacht industry.

"Asia is a region that is increasingly the focus of the marine industry globally, with a lot of interest traditionally coming from Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand from both expatriate and Asian clients," said Gareth Twist, who is also a founding member of the Asia Pacific Superyacht Association.

"Most recently we have seen a real jump in interest from China and India. Due to our partnerships in the UK with BMT Nigel Gee and Design Unlimited, we are fast becoming an alternative choice for European buyers looking for a competitively priced superyacht," he added.

Ruea Yachts operates out of two shipyards in Thailand - one in Phuket and the other in Bangkok.
