Luxembourg Private Bancassurance Firm Hires Ex-Anglo Finance Director

Lombard International Assurance, the Luxembourg-based private bancassurance company, has appointed Matt Moran as its new chief financial officer.
Mr Moran was most recently director of finance and chief financial officer at Anglo Irish Bank, and served as a member of its leadership team following the restructuring of management in 2008 and subsequent nationalisation of the bank. He began his career with Arthur Andersen in the UK, going on to work later in New York with Andersen Corporate Finance and Trenwith Securities.
“We are delighted that Matthew has joined Lombard in this pivotal role. We are confident that his experience and credentials will further strengthen our management team and help us in realising Lombard’s growth potential,” David Steinegger, Lombard’s chief executive, said in a statement.
In other recent developments, in December Lombard International Assurance established a new private wealth solutions and marketing department, grouping together its marketing, legal and tax activities to form a single 50-strong team. The department is led by Loïc Le Foll, with Stephen Cotter, Philipp Resch and Francesco Bruno heading the business development, business legal and wealth planning teams respectively.
