Lord North Street Appoints New CIO

Lord North Street, the London-based private investment house, has appointed Daniel de Fernando as its chief investment officer. He is charged with leading the combined investment teams of Lord North Street and MdF Achievers, a Madrid- and Barcelona-based private investment office.

Lord North Street is a shareholder of MdF: the two firms entered into a strategic alliance back in 2009.

A founding and managing partner of MdF since its inception in 2008, de Fernando is also a former global head of private banking and asset management at the Spanish bank BBVA. Prior to that, he worked for JP Morgan in both the US and Europe.

In his new role, Fernando is tasked with developing the firm’s global investment capability; he replaces Adam Wethered, Lord North Street co-founder, who will now focus on working with clients.

Other recent developments to come out of Lord North Street include the promotion of Olivia Hancock to managing director in February, elevating her from the post of chief operating officer.
