London-based solicitors Wedlake Bell have acquired two-partner boutique private client firm Beattie & Co. Jennifer Beattie and Jeremy Curtis, are both joining Wedlake Bell, Ms Beattie as a consultant and Mr Curtis as a partner. Beattie & Co was established 20 years ago. The merger swells the number of private client specialists at Wedlake Bell to 14, including six partners led by Peter Watts, covering charity work, estate planning and onshore and offshore tax and trusts among other areas.
