Lombard Odier Names New UK Chief Operating Officer

The new COO has more than 18 years' experience in the wealth managenent sector as well as "sharp operational acumen" which stand the firm in good stead for its "next chapter."

Geneva-headquartered Lombard Odier has appointed Thomas Morley (pictured) as its UK chief operating officer, effective yesterday. Based in London, he will report to Mark Goddard, Lombard Odier UK’s chief executive officer.

Morley, who has joined Lombard Odier’s UK team in a period of expansion, has more than 18 years’ experience of operational leadership within the wealth management industry, the firm said in a statement. He will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening Lombard Odier’s internal operations, working with the executive team to ensure that operations align with the business’ long-term growth strategy in the UK. 

Morley began his career at UBS Wealth Management where he served in a variety of roles including deputy head of Jersey operations and executive director, head of investment bank EMEA and wealth management client onboarding at UBS London. He was a director within Ernst & Young’s wealth and asset management division, before moving to Sarasin & Partners where he was deputy chief operating officer, overseeing several teams and the firm-wide change agenda.

“Thomas’ deep experience in the wealth management industry, coupled with his sharp operational acumen, makes him exceptionally well placed to help steer our firm through its next chapter, ensuring that we deliver the best possible service to our clients,” Goddard said.
