Lombard Odier Names Former UBS Man Senior Private Banker

Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie has added senior private banker John Bulbeck to its London office, recruiting him from UBS Wealth Management.
While with the Swiss banking giant, Bulbeck had been an executive director and deputy head of the ultra high net worth business. Before joining UBS in 2002 he had been a management partner at Compass Investment Management, a role focused on raising private equity finance for small techology companies in North America and Europe. Prior to this he worked for Credit Lyonnais Securities and WI Carr/Indosuez in London, and James Capel & Co in Hong Kong.
In his new role Bulbeck reports to Frederic Rochat, who heads the firm’s London office and who will become a managing partner of Lombard Odier on 1 January next year.
In another recent group-level hire, at the end of last month Lombard Odier Investment Managers brought in Dr Bruce Turner to manage the healthcare portfolio strategy component of its flagship multi-strategy 1798 Fundamental Strategies Fund and Global Equity Long/Short Fund.
Dr Turner, who was formerly an oncology specialist, has previously managed healthcare portfolios for First Manhattan and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In his new role he replaces Jim Patricelli as portfolio manager.
