Lombard Odier Hires Two From Credit Suisse To Boost ME Desk

Lombard Odier, the Geneva-based private bank, has expanded its London-based team of private bankers covering Middle Eastern clients with the appointments of Ziad Al Toura and Matthew Garnham, who formerly spent four years working together on Credit Suisse’s Middle East desk.
Mr Al Toura, who joined Credit Suisse in 2004, previously led private banking teams at Ahli United Bank in London and Gulf Bank in Kuwait City. Before this he was head of retail banking at the National Bank of Kuwait in London, where he managed portfolios for high net worth clients.
Before joining Credit Suisse, where he advised Middle Eastern institutions and high net worth clients, Mr Garnham previously worked for IFG Financial Services, also working with HNW individuals.
In developments elsewhere within the bank, at the end of last month Lombard Odier launched a healthcare fund designed to capitalise on the world’s ageing population.
The Golden Age Fund invests in a concentrated portfolio of 40-70 stocks from an investment universe consisting of 300 healthcare companies in the biopharmaceuticals, medical technology and healthcare services sectors. Structured as a SICAV under Luxembourg law, the fund aims to outperform the MSCI World Healthcare Index.
