The newly-appointed bankers operate from Hong Kong and Zurich, highlighting an important "corridor" between both financial centres.

Lombard Odier has welcomed two new bankers to its private clients team in Hong Kong and Zurich: Sonya Song and Jingjing He, respectively. 

The appointments add to banking capabilities and client coverage across Asia and Zurich, the Geneva-headquartered group said in a statement on Friday. 

Song, based in Hong Kong, has been appointed deputy market leader (China) and senior relationship manager. She has more than 17 years of private banking experience advising ultra-high net worth clients in the Greater China market. She has joined from BNP Paribas, where she specialised in the Greater China and Singapore markets. Song has served in senior roles at UBS in Beijing and Zurich, and at Bank of East Asia and Standard Chartered Bank.

Song reports to Alfred Low, CEO of Hong Kong and head of North Asia Markets, private clients.

He, a relationship manager, transferred to the Asia private clients team in Zurich on 7 September. She brings nearly 20 years of asset management and private banking experience, and has been with Lombard Odier since May 2013, having worked in its London and Geneva offices. 

Most recently, He served as head of Greater China institutional client coverage at Lombard Odier investment managers, the bank’s asset management arm.

Prior to joining Lombard Odier, He held positions at financial institutions including UBS, Standard Chartered Bank and Commercial and Industrial Bank of China. She reports to Christian Wagner, Asia Switzerland, market head.
