Lombard International Unveils Expansion Into Belgium

The Luxembourg-headquartered provider of life insurance-based wealth solutions will expand its footprint to Belgium in the coming months.

Lombard International Assurance is to open an office in Belgium by mid-2016, subject to regulatory approval.

The announcement of the new Brussels branch comes at a busy period for the firm, which is also in the process of acquiring Zurich Eurolife's private banking solutions business in Luxembourg. In January, the firm announced plans to open its first offices in Asia – in Hong Kong and Singapore – and appointed Tammy Lu Tsui as chief executive for the region.

“We are excited to be opening a new branch in Belgium, one of our longest standing markets in Europe. The move demonstrates our commitment to this important market as we seek to build out our franchise across Europe as the leader in our sector,” said John Hillman, executive chairman of Lombard International.

Lombard International, which offers wealth solutions using life assurance for the high and ultra-high net worth segment, has over $75 billion of global assets under administration.
