Lloyds TSB International Private Banking Loses Director of Iberia, Americas

Juan Hernadez de Lorenzo has resigned from Lloyds TSB International Private Banking. Mr Lorenzo was director, Americas, Iberia and High Net Worth. He has been with the bank for the last fifteen years and was based in Geneva. It is understood that he has decided to return to his native city of Barcelona. A spokesperson for Lloyds TSB Private Banking in Geneva told WealthBriefing that Mr Lorenzo has made a great contribution to the development of its private banking business in the Spanish speaking world and leaves on good terms. A replacement has been nominated and it is expected to move from London in the near future. An announcement is expected shortly. James Stuart-Scobie, director Business Solutions and deputy managing director, told WealthBriefing in a recent interview that the bank’s strategy was to focus on four key growth markets. One of these is Latin America. Mr Sturt-Scobie said: “We recently opened an office in Montevideo, and we’re opening up in Buenos Aries and Asuncion too. Several very promising clients have already come to us from these initiatives. In Montevideo we acquired a team of nine client facing staff from Bank of New York and they are doing a great job growing our franchise in the region”.
