Liontrust Hires Charles Stanley's Distribution Head

The London-listed fund management group has boosted its sales capabilities.

The UK's Liontrust Asset Management has hired Martin Weisinger from Charles Stanley as discretionary sales manager.

Weisinger joins from Charles Stanley’s fund management arm, Matterley, which he joined in March last year as head of distribution. He previously spent 12 years at F&C Asset Management/Thames River Capital, where he worked across the UK wholesale market.

In the newly-created role, Weisinger will be based in London and will report to Liontrust's head of discretionary sales, Stephen Corbett.

“Martin’s 25 years of experience, particularly in working with long/short funds, combined with his excellent contacts and knowledge of the industry make him a key hire for Liontrust,” said Corbett.

In its recent results statement for the last three months of 2015, Liontrust reported a 7 per cent rise in assets under management to £4.7 billion ($6.7 billion).
