Lincoln Financial Network Enhances Investment Capabilities With Senior Hire From Merrill

Lincoln Financial Network, the retail wealth management affiliate of Lincoln Financial Group, has appointed Gene Mulligan - latterly of Merrill Lynch - as senior vice president for investment products and platform.

Mulligan will lead LFN’s wealth management platform, including its managed account strategy, products and operations. He will report to LFN president, David Berkowtiz, and will serve on the LFN Executive Committee.

Mulligan is formerly of Merrill Lynch Global Investment Solutions, where he was a managing director as well as head of business strategy and development for the Merrill Lynch global investment and advisory platforms. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1986 as a commodities trader.

The move comes after Bill Fortner was appointed in June as managing director of Lincoln Financial Advisors to lead the Pacific regional planning group.

Philadelphia, PA-headquartered Lincoln Financial Group and its affiliates had assets under management of $189 billion as of June 30, 2013.
