Lighthouse illuminates sports, celebrity practice

LH Sports & Entertainment launches website to highlight specialty services. LH Sports & Entertainment, a part of Lighthouse Wealth Management that provides business- and wealth-management services to high-profile athletes and other celebrities has launched a website to publicize its investment-advisory services to agents, professional athletes and entertainers.

Evolution

Jeff Wallner, head of New York-based LH Sports & Entertainment, founded the sports and entertainment division of Lighthouse Wealth Management in 2001 to provide agents, sports figures and individuals in the entertainment field with tailored investment advice.

Wallner, a former high school and college All-American, began his financial-service career as a broker with Ladenburg Thalmann in the mid 1990s. At CIBC Oppenheimer (Oppenheimer & Co.), he developed a sports practice consisting primarily of baseball players and entertainers. At A.G. Edwards (now part of Wells Fargo via Wachovia's brokerage business), he expanded his practice to include people associated with football, basketball and soccer.

Lighthouse Wealth Management is a unit of New York-based investment-banking and institutional-securities firm Lighthouse Financial. -FWR
