Financial Partners, the Hong Kong-headquartered advisory firm that specialises in the wealth management needs of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community, is looking to hire new advisors for its Australian operations.

The endeavour is in line with its partnership with LGBT Capital, which gives it access to some 200 million members of the Asian LGBT community with an estimated spending power of at least A$800 billion ($767 billion).

The resulting joint venture, LGBT Wealth, is supported by LGBT Capital in terms of marketing and engagement, while Financial Partners takes care of the advice and wealth management aspect of the business.

"Australian financial advisors have a good reputation overseas. Financial Partners is looking for people who are sensitive to the financial needs of the LGBT community," said Joe Meade, principal at Sterling Associates, the recruitment firm hired to find planners for the new service.

LGBT Wealth was launched in February 2013.
