Legg Mason Launches App For iPad

New York-listed Legg Mason Global Asset Management has launched an iPad app, aiming to give investors regular market insights and daily net asset values for its UK, Dublin and Luxembourg-domiciled funds.

The firm said users of the app can also view videos and webcasts featuring recent interviews with portfolio managers.

“We are witnessing a sea-change in the way people consume information and, as a global business, we are committed to responding to this shift as investors around the world embrace digital technology,” said Mike Evans, head of international marketing.

“The success of our smartphone app since launch last year has clearly demonstrated the appetite for ‘on-the-go’ fund data and we will continue to seek ways to make our content easily accessible to clients,” he added.

Legg Mason had $632 billion in assets under management at end June. The firm is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.
