Kleinwort Benson has restructured its private banking operations and re-branded itself. The London-based wealth management firm is now known as purely Kleinwort Benson, rather than Kleinwort Benson Private Bank. The re-branding also takes into account the firm’s Channel Island’s business, which now also comes under the banner of Kleinwort Benson. In a statement from the bank, Kleinwort also said it has begun its expansion of its regional office network in the UK. The bank announced at the beginning of the year that it was looking to hire private bankers in Manchester, Birmingham and Newbury. The bank also said that through a strategic review, Kleinwort was recently split into two distinct lines – private wealth management and corporate fiduciary and intermediaries. “This represents the different needs of the private client and corporate markets and puts in place the infrastructure to take the business to its next level of growth,” the bank said in a statement. The re-branding and restructuring of the private bank has been under the stewardship of Robert Taylor, appointed in November 2004 as Kleinwort’s chief executive.
