Kleinwort Benson Private Bank is expanding in the UK regions as part of its ongoing expansion plans. A major advert in yesterday’s Financial Times said the bank is looking to hire private bankers in Manchester, Birmingham and Newbury. The ad said: “As part of an exciting expansion programme, we’re establishing regional offices to develop further our UK client base. Growth in these new locations is key to our overall strategy…” The London-based bank, which is owned by Dresdner, has been in a process of re-launching itself under the stewardship of chief executive Robert Taylor. Mr Taylor has made a number of redundancies and brought in new faces since he assumed his position in September 2004. The bank, which is one of the most venerable names in UK finance, has also integrated itself to a much greater extent with Dresdner Private Banking under the guidance of Mr Taylor. The German private bank is currently on an expansion drive. Last October, Andreas Georgi, a senior board member at Dresdner, said private banking expansion would be targeted at the UK and the Middle East.
