Kames Capital Boosts Fixed Income Team

Kames Capital, the UK-based asset management arm of AEGON, has bolstered its fixed income team with the addition of Greg Mackay to its government bonds team.
Assuming specific responsibility for derivatives, he will report to Kames Capital’s joint head of fixed income, Stephen Jones.
Mackay was latterly head of fixed income and derivatives at Nationwide Building Society, where he was head of a team of ten responsible for the institution’s liquidity book and the interest rate risk arising from its business. Before this he was director of UK rates and inflation sales at Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets.
In other recent hires, towards the end of last month Kames strengthened its property fund management division by hiring part of ING REIM’s property multi-manager team.
Mark Bunney, Matt Day and Tony Yu now report to Phil Clark, head of property and investment, supporting the existing team to create a range of indirect property investments.
At ING REIM the team were responsible for over £2 billion ($3.2 billion) in assets, which included the Osiris Property Fund.
Up until September Kames was known as AEGON Asset Management.
