Jupiter Hires Four Private Client Managers From Singers

Jupiter Asset Management said it has appointed four private client fund managers, joining from Singer & Friedlander Investment Management, a subsidiary of Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, which is now in administration.

The appointees are: Robert Walker, Paula Forecast, Phil Gent and Oliver Pearson-Lund who will join Jupiter between November 2008 and January 2009.

“The appointments represent a considerable addition to Jupiter’s Private Clients division which has focused on providing clients with a highly personal investment management service since 1985,” Jupiter said.

The team, which currently comprises six fund managers is headed by Colin Chisholm and manages £800 million on behalf of individuals, charities, trusts and self invested personal pensions.

Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander, meanwhile, announced last week that 74 members of its UK staff, mostly investment bankers, had been made redundant with immediate effect. An annoucement is expected today concerning the ownership of the business.
