Julius Baer Widens UK Access to its Funds Range

Swiss private bank Julius Baer is expanding its product line in the UK by giving local investors access to its suite of absolute return bond funds.

These are the Absolute Return Bond Fund, Absolute Return Bond Fund Plus and Absolute Return Emerging Bond Fund, launched in 2004, 2006 and 2007 respectively. The funds are domiciled in Luxembourg and have the ability to take long and short market positions, without leverage, to attempt to make money in all market conditions.

“Investors are increasingly turning to absolute returns funds as an alternative to traditional fixed income strategies, which are struggling to outperform cash, and volatile equity markets,” said Tim Haywood, co-lead manager of two of the funds.

The funds will be sold by the recently formed distribution team at the Swiss bank. It is targeting wealth managers, insurance companies, investment banks and funds of funds.
