Julius Baer has opened an office in Crans-Montana, the first one in a Swiss winter and summer tourist resort. "We want to attract clients locally but also we want our international clients who come to this beautiful place on holiday to know that they can now also take advantage of our proximity – right here in the centre of Crans-Montana," said Robert-Philippe Bloch, who heads Julius Baer's regional office in Lausanne and is responsible for the Vaud/Valais region. "The private banking division of Julius Baer is acting on its strategic focus of accelerating growth by improving networks and branching into new markets," said Alex Widmer, Julius Baer's chief executive officer private banking. "The office in Crans-Montana is our first endeavour into a Swiss tourist region, and I hope it will not be the last." To celebrate the opening, Julius Baer brought the sport of Polo – the focal point of the bank's global sponsoring strategy - to Crans-Montana for the very first time. Two teams from the Polo Club de Veytay played an exhibition match on snow, at the curling rink at the Golf Club de Crans.
