Julius Baer Names New Intermediaries Chief For Western Switzerland, Monaco, MidEast

The Zurich-headquartered private bank has named a new head of intermediaries for one of its major business regions.

Julius Baer has appointed Stefano Spurio as its new head of intermediaries for western Switzerland, Monaco and the Middle East.

Spurio takes on the role at the start of February. He takes over from Laurent Pellet, who is leaving the bank, a spokesperson told this publication.

After joining Zurich-listed Julius Baer in 2005, Spurio covered various senior roles in investment advisory for private banking and external asset managers for the French-speaking part of Switzerland. In 2010, he additionally set up the advisory offering in Monaco. In 2011, he took over coverage of the Dubai office and has been a member of the investment committee since then.

In his new role, Spurio will report to Gian Rossi, head of the Switzerland region.
