Following last year's announcement of a UK regions strategy, the Swiss bank has named the person to lead offices across the UK.

Julius Baer International in London has appointed former Barclays senior manager Calum Brewster as to head up its UK regional offices business, putting details on an expansion strategy announced in August last year.

Brewster, based in Edinburgh, will initially lead a team of 20 people; there are plans to expand this number throughout this year.

Having joined the firm at the end of 2017, Brewster sits on the executive committee of Julius Baer International. He reports to David Durlacher, chief executive of Julius Baer International. 

Previously, Brewster worked at Barclays Wealth & Investment Management. He had been MD for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the North of England. Prior to that he was head of client experience and strategy at Lloyds Banking Group and head of client services at Scottish Widows.
