The Swiss private bank has made a senior addition to its Philippines leadership team.

Switzerland-listed Julius Baer has hired Citi Private Bank's Steven Lawrence as team head and senior relationship manager for the Philippine market.

Lawrence joins from his position as senior private banker within Citi Private Bank's mega wealth team in Singapore. Before this, he served as the bank's region head for the Philippines, Thailand and Australia between 2005 and 2011. 

He brings more than 30 years' experience in the financial industry, with a focus on serving the ultra-high net worth segment and developing business in emerging markets.

In the new Hong Kong-based role, Lawrence will lead Julius Baer's efforts to grow its Philippine franchise. He will report to the bank's market head for the Philippines, Christian Cappelli.
