Julius Baer has appointed Boris Collardi as its chief operating officer; the position is a new one. Mr Collardi will take up his new position at the beginning of the New Year. Mr Collardi worked for 12 years at Credit Suisse, where he had a number of senior positions including chief financial officer and head of corporate centre, Credit Suisse Private Banking. The bank said in a statement that he will work closely with Alex Widmer, head of private banking, “in the implementation of the growth strategy of Julius Baer in selected markets globally”. Meanwhile, Julius Baer has yet to announce who will replace Rolf Aeberli, the bank’s former chief financial officer, who left last week to take up the position of chief executive at Banca del Gottardo. But an announcement is expected soon.
