JTC Launches In Luxembourg

Jersey Trust Company has launched a Luxembourg office in a move which the firm said is intended to improve flexibility for international structuring and enhance the range of services it provides.

JTC Luxembourg is licensed and regulated by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier as a Domiciliation and Registrar Agent and with its launch the firm now operates in six jurisdictions globally. Heading up the new office are Cliff Langford and Roel Schrijen as joint managing directors.

The firm said the principal motivating factors behind the launch were existing client demand for local services and the continued expansion of Luxembourg as a fund administration centre.

The new office will provide services across JTC’s real estate, fund and employee services, corporate and private wealth divisions, including the formation and domiciliation of companies and investment funds and the provision of directors and accounting/administration services.

Cliff Langford has been recruited to focus on international real estate matters, having spent most of his 30-year career with DTZ in the UK, Germany and the Middle East. Roel Schrijen, is a tax lawyer who has been working in the trust industry in Luxembourg and Switzerland for the last six years.

“Luxembourg has established itself as the prime jurisdiction in Europe for the management and administration of investment vehicles and funds. This is, therefore, an excellent time for Jersey Trust Company to open in Luxembourg, where there is continued growth in the demand for fund administration,” Nigel Le Quesne, group managing director, said.
