JP Morgan Asian Infrastructure Fund Gains Strong Interest From HNWs

JP Morgan Asset Management has announced the closing of the JP Morgan Asian Infrastructure & Related Resources Opportunity Fund after receiving $858.6 million in capital commitments from institutional and high net worth investors worldwide.

The fund, which targets a wide range of infrastructure assets in the Asian region, is one of the largest dedicated Asian infrastructure funds, the company said in a statement. The endeavor demonstrates JP Morgan AM's global real assets platform into the emerging markets and infrastructure space, to complement its existing range of related offerings.

"Asia is providing an extraordinary opportunity for investing in infrastructure and its related resources," saidJoe Azelby, the global head of JP Morgan AM's Global Real Assets arm.

"We have had tremendous interest from a diverse group of investors who see the growth potential that this dynamic market affords and require an investment firm with direct access to a broad range of investment opportunities and the resources to capitalize on them. JP Morgan Asset Management fulfills those requirements," he added.

The unit will be manned by infrastructure and investment professionals based in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mumbai.
