JP Morgan Asia Grows Treasury Services With Senior Trio

It is the latest expansion in the US bank's treasury services unit in Asia Pacific.

JP Morgan Treasury Services has strengthened its Southeast Asia team with the appointment of three key executives, two of which are from US rival Citi.

Abdul Latiff has been promoted to head of treasury services, while Hooi Ching Wong steps in from Citi Malaysia as head of TS for Malaysia. Also from Citi is Nadia Schiavon, who becomes head of TS for Australia and New Zealand.

Latiff worked at JP Morgan for seven years in a variety of corporate and financial institution segment roles. In his new Singapore-based post, he will be responsible for enhancing end-to-end client service initiatives, particularly in Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippies, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Pakistan. He will also support the build out of JP Morgan's global corporate bank in the region. He reports to Tom DuCharme, the chief executive for the Asia Pacific.

Wong held a number of transaction banking roles at Citi Malaysia, in addition to sales, product and relationship management capacities. Reporting to Latiff, she will oversee the development of JP Morgan Chase Bank Berhad's operations.

Schiavon joins from Citi Australia, where she served the finance, operations, technology, implementation, and client services divisions. At JP Morgan, she will lead the business across the Australia and New Zealand region, reporting to DuCharme. She will also work closely with the GCB, investment bank, and worldwide securities services.

"These appointments mark an important phase in JP Morgan's international growth agenda. By further aligning our global and regional capabilities with a more focused market presence across Asia Pacific, we can enhance our services to cross-border clients," said DuCharme in a statement.

JP Morgan announced several treasury services appointments in the Asia Pacific early this year, which include Margaret Yao as regional sales executive, Hendra Lembong as head of cash management, and Adrian Godfrey as head of client service.
