JP Morgan Asset Management has filled its newly-created head of investment trust sales role with the appointment of Tim Mitchell.

After a year of working at Investec as its co-head of investment companies, Mitchell will lead the four-person investment trust sales team at JPMAM in London, the firm said in a statement.

He will co-ordinate sales and investor relations activity for the firm’s range of trusts across the institutional, private client, advisory and execution-only channels, as well as aiding any future investment trust launches.

Mitchell has spent the past 20 years in the investment trust sector, including spells at Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch, Invesco and Panmure Gordon.

Arriving at JPMAM in early February, he will report to Simon Crinage, head of investment trusts.
