JP Morgan AM Appoints Ex-StanChart Head To Lead New Asia-Pac Funds Arm

JP Morgan Asset Management has appointed a former Standard Chartered executive to lead its Asia-Pacific funds business.
Tai Hui assumes the newly-created role of chief Asia-Pacific strategist for the funds business, based in Hong Kong. He leads the global market insights strategy team in Asia, which provides a quarterly markets guide on the likes of equities, fixed income and commodities.
Hui was previously head of research for Asia at Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore. He left the bank in early September to go on gardening leave. His old post was assumed by David Mann, who relocated from the US.
The JP Morgan Asset Management global market insights strategy team in Hong Kong is the company's first in Asia. Its other units are located in the US, Europe, where it has five, and Sao Paolo, Brazil.
